Maarit is an experienced travel specialist from Finland with over 25 years of experience in the tourism industry. She has lived and worked in various tourism-related roles in Finland, on cruise ships, and has represented Finnish luxury travel companies abroad.
In addition, she has led cultural, trekking, nature, and cycling tours worldwide and has extensive knowledge of Southeast Asia, Central America, and the Caribbean. Maarit is passionate about exploring the world, taking photos, horseback riding, diving, and hiking in nature.
She has lived in Costa Rica for the past seven years, leading tours in Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, and Cuba. After working with Joel in Nicaragua, they established Exclusive Tours in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

Joel Antonio
CO-FOUNDER
Joel is a Tourism Guide of Nicaragua, authorized by "Intur" National Tourism Institute of Nicaragua. He obtained his degree in tourism and hotel management in 2006 and also participated in updating the management plan of the Masaya Volcano National Park.
Joel served as the operations manager for two tour operators, namely Quna Tours and Carely Tours. He also worked as a guide for the cruise area. Additionally, he graduated as a nursing assistant environmental trainer specializing in fauna and fires.
Joel is passionate about the environment and enjoys volunteering in reforestation and recycling activities. He has worked for ten years in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, where he was responsible for managing 74 protected areas in Nicaragua. He also has five years of experience working as a bilingual environmental guide in the Masaya National Park. Joel has worked as a forest ranger and head of the brigade in forest fire control.
